1.) Does what I needed it for...

I purchased this item a few weeks ago with the purpose of using it for two things, plunge cutting drywall for removal of sections all ready in place instead of using a blade (using the half moon blade for Drywall and wood). Also removing some grout (1/8 blade, purchased from another source), and in both cases it has worked without issue.

When plunge cutting drywall it actually works quickly and like stated with low dust kick-up, when going down a line it does take about 5 minutes to do a 8ft wall, but doing a outlet box takes just a minute. If have ever used a Roto-Zip it is a dust pig, this is not, but also a Roto-Zip I must say is more powerful and wild at times because it wants to rip through everything.

I do agree with others that the venting on the machine is in a poor location, you do want to hold it at the top for control, instead of the actual hand grip area, but depnding on angle and different attachments this may be a issue no matter where the venting is because of wanting to place your hand for best control at that time.

Overall it does what I wanted it for... low low dust compared to other power tools.

I always wanted the rockwell multi-tool same thing as the dremel multi-max, but when i saw that dremel finally came out with it iv trusted dremel for many tools before and the 2 year warranty was an extra, the famous dremel speed setting was an extra also. The speed control allows you to have good control and outcome on any project, corded is constant power, unlike battery losing power.
I bought for my father for ofcourse fathers day and not only was he happy but the bathroom project has been no sweat and easy now.
My best friend also got it and we used it on an elctrical installation project and actually cut though a 2x4 which does not say it can do but let me tell you, it did the job. highly recommended, definitely stealing it from my dads shelf once in a while. great buy since this kit from amazon was the only one that had such many accessories.

I got this DREMEL Mult-Max to help with some detail sanding of the restoration of our exterior wooden windows - 5 STARS!
Then used it to saw through 3/8 inch stainless bolts on a hardware installation on our boat - 5 STARS!
Used it to scrape 3M 5200 adhesive on our boat - 5 Stars!

These 3 projects in 2 weeks would have been much slower to accomplish with my other hand tools available.

I recommend you put this in your toolbox and use it for some tough detail type projects.

Manufactured by Bosch for Dremel, the Dremel 6300-03 is an outstanding tool! It is powerful, and has infinitely-controlable cutting speed. It will do everything the much-higher-priced Fein tool will do, but for a much more economical price.

I purchased this tool for my husband for Christmas. Right after that we started a remodeling project in our house. I can't count the number of times he used the Dremel with great results. He has all the different attachments and I believe he used all of them. He thinks it's a wonderful addition for his tool box.

9.) When other tools just won't do
Reviewed by: Bill Anderson Savannah, Ga

It took awhile after buying to get around to using this tool, but once I tried it out I found this to be the most handy tool for special cutting needs. My largest project has been grout removal and it works great. I did find the tool heating up in my hand and I think that comes from the way you have to hold the front end and at the same time covering the motor venting. I like the feel in my hand, the variable speed control, the power it provides along with control for accuracy. I have also tried it on wood door jambs for tiling and flooring fit as well as cutting wall electrical boxes. I would recommend to any of my friends for DIY work.

10.) Missing Parts
Reviewed by: Nancy C. Johnson Cambridge, Ohio United States
Rating:
This tool is great. but I think that it should have included the basic part, the sanding attachment. That is the primary use of this tool, but this part was missing. The base price was $89, but I paid $125 to get the extra attachments for sawing and grout removal. I had to go to Lowe's to buy the sanding attachment for an additional $11 and then $25 for some sand paper as expected.

11.) Pretty neat tool
Reviewed by: C. Daugherty Virginia
Rating:
I have only used this tool 5-6 times since I bought it, but I'm surprised at how useful it is. Just last night I used the scraper attachment to take old tile off a bathroom floor. Then I used the wood cutting attachment to trim the bottom of a door frame when I was putting in some thicker flooring. I really haven't run into any negatives with this tool. Before I bought this, I had read several reviews stating that the attachments had to be continually tightened and a few that implied the cutting tools didn't work that well. I haven't had any issues with attachments vibrating loose, and I ran the scraper for 20+ mins at over 3/4 max speed. I also think that some people might've had trouble with the cutting attachments if they tried to force the tool to cut instead of just allowing the tool to do the cutting. In any case, I'm very happy with the purchase.

12.) Good tool, not great!

I got a Dremel to get the grout of our shower floor. Floor has the 1" X 1" tiles and the grout lines are about 1/8 " wide. It did the job but it still took quite a while to do. Not as easy as I thought it would be. I did have to buy a 2nd grout blade a the first one wore down after about 2/3rds of the way. Had to keep rotating the blade to use sides of it that weren't worn down. Overall, it did a good job. No problems with the blade slipping.

14.) Good value - not for commerical use
Reviewed by: Renso
Rating:
Got the tool for Christmas. Needed it for undercutting baseboard as well as cut aluminum from my front door frame to fit in my new front-door threshold. As some of the other folks in these reviews, the tool wood-cutting bit kept on coming loose. I was afraid of tightening it too much, but after it came loose again-and-again after about 5 minutes of use I decided to tighten it until could feel the motor turning. This time it did not come loose as easily but I am not sure how long it will handle this - so far so good. It does however still come loose when I hit a hard spot, like when I encounter a nail or when it touched the cement floor when cutting the baseboard or if you force it - let the tool do the work.

If you want a tool that you can force and use for hours on end, you need to consider another, and needless to say a considerably more expensive tool. It is good value for money, and if you - like me - undercut lots of baseboard manually with a jam saw before you got this tool, you will find this tool a great time-saver and an absolute pleasure to use.

Just as side note I have only used the wood and wood-metal bits and have not used it to cut pipes, grout, etc, just used it to cut a small notch out of an aluminum door frame and the baseboards. I did use it to trim the edge of a custom-cut laminate flooring piece as I was too lazy to use the circular saw and it burns the wood but it did manage to trim 1mm off of it none the less.

Pros: Lightweight, relatively inexpensive, easy to use, great time-saver over manually cutting door-jams.
Cons: Thick (solid-wood) stair jams (not sure what this is called, the wood trim on either side of my stairs that run all the way down the stairs and meet the concrete floor where I installed the laminate flooring and had to undercut the wood trim to slide the laminate underneath, about 2in thick solid wood) took a while to cut and burns the wood with smoke pouring out of the wood (probably other oscillating tools will do the same), the heat that comes from the tool after about 5 minutes of continuous cutting is excessive, the bit that comes loose again-and-again is my biggest concern as now that I tighten it real good (until I can feel the motor turning) am not sure how long it will last before something strips or breaks but since it still holds have to give it the benefit of the doubt, the casing it comes in is very cheap, the custom bits are expensive (like the sander).

15.) dremel multi max oscillating kit...

it was working ok, till today as a matter of fact! i like that i can cut a nice accurate thin kerf. it seems a little like a toy more than a tool, but it does work and it is lightweight. it stopped working in the middle of a cut. i don't know whether the switch is at fault or a loose connection inside..

16.) Underpowered, and HOT to hold
Reviewed by: mallione
Rating:
The air vents are positioned right where you place your hands, so for the first few minutes the tool is usable, but after that, i.e., for use on anything but the most trivial of jobs the tool gets so hot that you have to move your hand(s) to the back of the tool, away from the power head, and becase of the leverage problem, you will probably find yourself using TWO hand hands to attempt to control the blade.

If your only purpose is to cut the bottom of a casing from time to time or some other trivial task, this inexpensive alternative to the fein is acceptable (although, that said, the Rockwell is getting better reviews in this tool class).

But, if you are thinking to add this to your shop as a 'real tool', forget it, you will only be disappointed.

In addition to the heat problem, the blades are of questionalble quality. I note that the scraper blade actually BROKE after less than 15 minutes of continuous operation.

Oh, nearly forgot to mention that regardless of how tight I cranked the cutting blade down, it kept coming loose. Really. No doubt because I was working the tool pretty hard, but ... when was the last time ANY tool let go of a blade. Unforgivable.

17.) No Rasp vs Diamond Paper?
Reviewed by: Peter Mcdonough
Rating:
Purchased a few weeks ago to repair a broken tile. Price point is nice and the store display showed a picture of a Rasp attachment for removing thinset. The store did not have the Rasp available for sale, so I bought the tool thinking I could order it on line. WORNG! Does not exist from what I can see. You have to buy hook and loop Diamond Paper at $30 for 3 sheets. They attach to the triangle sanding block. I have not purchased the paper. I used the Scraper blade to knock down the thinset grooves and the Grout Tool, which has a Rasp type edge, to grind down and finish the project. The tool is ok for this little job but you have to be creative. The irratating thing about the purchase is the Attachmnet DECEPTION of the advertising. Don't lead me to belive you have an attachment you know you don't make. Rockwell has a tool with more HP and I think it offers a Rasp.

Out of the box I loved everything about this tool. I immediately went to my workbench and practiced using it. About two weeks later I used it on my first real project, removing grout. It started leaking oil from the shaft. I returned it to Dremel and requested a new one. However, they quickly rebuilt it and returned it to me without an explanation of the problem.
Only time will tell if the fix they performed will hold up or if I have to spend another $10 to return it again.
