1.) Platinum drywall lifter, great value
Reviewed by: Big Dog Auburn, WA United States

I purchased the Platinum drywall lifter for a home remodeling project. It was easy to use and a huge time and labor saving tool. It is solidly built and easy to transport. I also purchased the extension because I have ceilings over 12'. The extension was easy to change and worked perfectly. I highly reccomend this tool for anyone who has to hang drywall on a ceiling or a high wall. One person can quickly and efficiently tackle any high project.

2.) Should have bought it long ago!!!!

We searched for ahwile on many websites until we felt this lift from Discount Tommy was the one we wanted at the best price. We called friends who were in the business and they offered locations to go to find one. We did not want to spend all of our time in the car looking for one. We also bought the 15' extention with it, have not used the extention yet but we have used the lift many times. It saves you from having to have multiple people on the same task. I was able to place sheetrock by myself without complication in a reasonable time frame without breaking my back or making a jig to hold it up. It helps us go faster even when we do have two people on the same task. I should have bought this years ago. We feel it is well worth the price. If business picks up we will not hesitate to purchase another from Discount Tommy.

I needed a Lazy Lifter Drywall Hoist to assist with hanging sheet rock on a ceiling. I opted not to purchase one a local retailers because they were very expensive. Then I found one on the internet through Tommy Discount. The price was half the cost of the local retailers. The product was as described. Quick delivery as promised and I have had NO problems with this tool....THANKS! Will order through this company again!

4.) Great drywall lift
Reviewed by: J. VanRy Upstate NY

I bought this along with the 4 foot extension in order to redo our 14 foot high living room walls and ceiling. It's compact and lightweight- very easy for one person to handle (compared to heavier units you might rent.) One common sense detail: since it's light it can become top-heavy when lifting at its limit. It's not a design flaw, it's a byproduct of physics. Be sure to lock the wheels, and a second person is nice to have to help steady everything.

I bought this for less than half of what a daily rental would cost, and it worked just as well- highly recommended!

We could not have finished our basement without this drywall lifter. Drywall is so heavy I could not hold it long enough for my husband to get it attached to the wall. I ordered this and now my husband does'nt even need my help. The price on this is outstanding!

I bought one about a year ago and use it all the time. What a great tool! I've even put up 12' long drywall by myself, and have hung 16' long rock, with help. I would never buy one before, because of the cost in the past, but you can't beat this price! I am a remodeler, and the thing I get asked to do the most is drywall. I use this tool all the time. The service was excellent. I purchased a drywall lift and Was concerned about quality because of the low price. I was very surprised upon receiving the lift as it was obviously of high quality. Ordered and had the unit in 2 days can't beat that for service. Good Job.

8.) Great Product, Great Company

I have used this lifter to sheet rock two rooms in my house by myself. Really great quality and does exactly what it says it will. Very easy to lift 4x8 and 4x10 sheets to my 10' ceiling with no problem. Angled ceilings as well were a cinch. I checked the product over and it is quality built, great welds, great finish and smooth operating. Don't be fooled, not a cheap rip off. This is a quality unit at a really great price.

9.) Saves 10x the cost in labor and time
Reviewed by: Addition Specialist San Antonio, TX

I started a remodeling company specializing in additions in 1991. We were a two man crew and I bought a lifter just like the Lazy Lifter. CONTRACTOR price $220. It was worth every penny then and at this price I couldn't even rent one. When you check the prices of drywall installers, the savings for a small company or do-it-yourselfer can easily be over $1000 on an addition. This lifter makes it easy for anyone to install ceilings and walls. One person can do it. 11.) Saved My Back!!
Reviewed by: BuilditBIG Lexington, Ky

I purchased this with the hope that it would speed up my drywall hanging and reduce the amount of help I would need to hang. This item did more than I had ever imagined it would. I was able to hang problem pieces by myself in the same amount of time I was hanging using two helpers. It paid for itself the very first day and my back was put in jeapordy at anytime. The customer service was excellent as well, there were no problems at all.

12.) The Only Way to Hang Drywall
Reviewed by: Gary Brennan Gravois Mills, MO

I bought this to do a remodeling project at my house. I am a professional contractor but, I had always hung drywall using the brute force method. Since I had no help on this project and I had vaulted ceilings, I really had no choice. With my 12' vaulted ceilings, I also bought the extension. Let me tell you this is one of the best tools that I own. I had 90 boards of 1/2"x4'x12' that I installed by MYSELF. Easy to load, easy to lift and easy to manuver into place. Not only were the lids easy but the top row on the walls were cake as well.

I purchased this lift to do drywall at home. It was fairly easy to assemble and went together quickly. It is not quite as heavy duty as some lifts that I have rented, but is very capable of doing the job with ease. It was well worth the money and Discount Tommy has been great to work with. They are an outstanding company. I expect that the Lazy Lifter will serve me well for many years to come. I am a general contractor and do not do drywall every day thank goodness. But when I do, the Lazy Lifter will be right there with me.

I bought the lazy lifter drywall lift. I just used it today and it worked perfectly. I was surprised how well it was constructed for the price. It worked just as advertised and allowed me to hang 5/8" drywall on a 9' ceiling so easily it was surprising, no strain at all cranking it into position and the locking mechanism also worked flawlessly. I would recommend this product to anyone who needs to put drywall up on a ceiling alone. Vendor also was good to deal with I even got my order several days sooner than expected. I will definitely do businsess with this company again.

16.) Easy to use for 1 person

I bought this for my construction company on the small jobs when we don't have the rockers come in and when there is typically 1 guy by himself. It works great and it breaks down into several pieces for easy transport and storage. Hanging Sheetrock on a 10' ceiling and at angles requires this even with 2 guys and it works superbly. It is a back and time saver for the do it yourselfer!

Lifter is easy to assemble. It is heavy duty and works very well. Attachment of wheel handle a little confusing. I used it on a nine foot ceiling and it worked great. Used it for a wall also and it worked well for that too. I would have given it a 5 star, but at the nine foot height the cable tends to hit the nut for the handle on the wheel. However once I figured it out it is easy to pull the cable out and pass the nut. This was no problem at eight feet. Unit is well worth the price.

19.) pretty darn good for the money

I tried the "one click shipping" from Amazon. That was a mistake. It used my old address and never verified it. I found out it was going to my old address when I received an email from UPS Tracking. I immediately called Discount Tommy, and got through to a live person who understood and corrected the problem fast. Whew - Good Customer service!! I didn't want to have to explain and haul that thing from my former house.

The unit itself arrived on time and in good shape. It emitted a terrible metal on metal squeal at first. The pulleys and crank wheel bushing was lubed up and now it doesn't squeak at all (don't get any lube near the cam brake). As the boom extends upward, the cable tends to wind too close to the wheel, but for the money, this can't be beat.

20.) Nice for ceilings
Reviewed by: B. Made
Rating:
Bought the lift to do the sheetrock in my house and I'm working alone. It's pretty good for the ceilings. It's kind of wobbly but that helps when adjusting the location and angle. Also did a ceiling in an angle and sheets stayed up nicely.
It is a lot of work as you have to manouvre around the thing to tighten the sheets.
For the walls I had some more problems as it does not work too well with special cut sheets and having the sheet vertically destroys the balance.

21.) Eazy Lifter pro good for one time use.
Reviewed by: W. Hancock Johnson City,TN
Rating:
The price for this tool is "ok" for what you get, but be warned, it is a typical Chinese made product suitable for a one time home use. I used it to drywall a 2 car Garage. Problems I found included poor welding on the lift handle support making it difficult to lift 4x8 sheets of 5/8 fire code drywall and 4x12 1/2 inch sheets. The lift cable came off the lift pulley at an inopportune time. The extension arms could use additional stop points. Welding the lift arm support better and heavier steel construction of the crank assy would help. I would prefer a stronger designed lift, but it did get the job done on the cheap.
