I bought this so I could finish the celing in my basement without drywall crutches or another person. It works well - even my 11 year old daughter could crank a piece of drywall to the ceiling. My lift has a weld joint on one arm that is slightly bent which is annoying. The manual states it can be used to place pieces on the wall (as well as ceiling), for example when you are running horizontal joints on your wall. This does not work very well as the drywall clips on the arm don't release the sheet. That said, I was able to put 9 sheets of drywall up on my ceiling in an evening with no breakage, of drywall or my back! Glad I bought it. Note that the box is very heavy. Once it is assembled you can move it in two pieces (base and lift).
